About Paul OZ

Paul OZ didn’t always see himself becoming the successful, highly sought after artist that he is today, but as he says on his website “The crazy thing about life is how it can lead you down an inescapable path…” At 18, Paul OZ pursued a very different career path, sensibly aiming to prosper academically with his sights firmly set on a degree in Aerospace Engineering, a far cry from the artistic route he’s careering down today. However, he doesn’t see these years spent carving out a career in the Aerospace industry as wasted time. Paul OZ credits the decade he spent within the sector as the best preparation and inspiration for his now glittering art career.

Instead of attending art college, Paul OZ spent his spare time teaching himself how to paint, and used the business experience gained in his professional roles to develop his style so it could become a full-time vocation. He went onto spend many years striking a balance between working at a software brand development company in the week and painting at weekends, and hosted his very first solo exhibition in 2008. In early 2010, Paul OZ art was officially born.

Now his livelihood as well as his passion, his catalogue of Paul OZ original paintings was growing and so too was interest from the contemporary art world. Keen to expand his skills into an area that he also had a keen interest in, Paul OZ found inspiration for his paintings and prints in motorsport, a merge of passions that eventually led him to realise his dream of working with F1.
His works revolve around motorsport, including its emotions, heroes and history as well as the things he loves, film icons, childhood memories, wildlife, all things from the 1980s, music, and other sports. The result is a portfolio brimming with striking, visually stunning, dynamic works that are made to be noticed.

His work with F1 has been featured globally in every F1 Paddock Club worldwide as well as a slew of flagship stores, clubs, events, places of interest, and of course, independent galleries near you.

In addition to corporate commissions, Paul OZ recently introduced live painting performances to his repertoire. These live painting performances have already been hits with his client base, with Lamborghini, F1 Paddock Club, Pirelli, Monster Energy, Petronas and Epson just some of the brands to embrace this interactive and inventive experience with an already great British portrait artist.

Paul OZ art has not only been instrumental in adding style and flair to a wide selection of brands. Range of 3D textured oil paints

As British portrait artists go, Paul OZ is far from traditional. As well as using popular culture and its icons to inspire the subject matter of Paul OZ art, his use of oil paints to build 3D textures and create visual impact is particularly impressive and innovative. Paul OZ uses several techniques to create the pieces seen in our collection of Paul OZ original art for sale. Each of our Paul Oz original paintings is large scale and uses thick oils that are roughly 2cm in depth in some places to elevate the traditional idea of oils on canvas.
Paul OZ even goes as far as creating his own neon paints at home to achieve the ‘visual slap in the face’ he aspires each and every one of his works to be.

Our Paul OZ collection wouldn’t be complete without our Paul OZ prints for sale. With an aim to push the boundaries, Paul OZ art takes experimentation with new techniques and materials to the very next level. His works blur the lines between painting and sculpture to create inspiring, empowering pieces that deserve a place in every space.

Whilst best regarded for his work with 3D textured oil paintings, Paul OZ art isn’t restricted to this medium. Paul OZ regularly uses his engineering mindset and enthusiasm for 3D visuals to push his skills beyond the structural Paul OZ original paintings that he’s known and loved for.
His progression into sculpture work at first seemed like a crazy idea, but the resulting works prove there is no such thing! Paul OZ has been developing his sculptural skills since 2011 to critical acclaim and is planning to focus on this area further as he progresses into the next phases of his career. His specialism is life-sized bronze statues, alongside the creation of accompanying limited editions.
Paul OZ’s sculpture work has been the subject of various commissions to date, with his sculpture of the late, great Niki Lauda – commissioned by Niki’s friend and McLaren principal shareholder Mansour Ojjeh and unveiled on the 3rd anniversary of his passing – his most important, humbling and emotive commission to date.
